Sunset at the Louvre Museum
The Palais du Louvre is the largest architectural ensemble in France built on the banks of the Seine. Under the Ancien Régime, it was the residence of the Kings of France who had it built and refurbished continuously over five centuries. The glass pyramid was built in the middle of the Napoleon courtyard of the Louvre. It was commissioned by the President of the French Republic François Mitterrand in 1983.
